Pizza Margherita

Pizza Margherita is named after the Queen Margherita of Italy because it was her favorite variety of pizza. The name "Margherita," or Margaret, means "daisy" in Italian.

The Margherita is the protean version of pizza as it came to be popularized worldwide. Its elements are dough, mozzarella cheese, tomato sauce, and basil. Like all  authentically Neapolitan versions of pizza, it is cooked in a wood-burning oven.

At Antica Pizzeria, we create only truly authentic Neapolitan pizza.
In fact, we are the first restaurant in the United States to bear the seal of approval of the Verace Pizza Napoletana Association certifying the authenticity of our pizza as a Neapolitan culinary creation.
